Our Elf On A Shelf- Meet Leo!

Meet Leo! We welcomed him into our home on December 5th, 2011! He is a SILLY little elf.

It looks like he was playing Monster truck with "grandma, who got run over by a reindeer."One night, he got Coby's underwear and hung them on the stocking. Hehe! (Coby was embarrased!)
Leo found Coby's comfy pillow pet and helped himself to get a book to read for the day.

Oops! Leo - i don't think you are suppose to be wrapping presents at OUR house....

Camoflauge- Elf Style....

Halloween 2011

Saturday night Cory and I took Coby to Hallozooween! It was CRAZY! Lot's of people, long lines, etc. But THIS made Coby's WHOLE night......Seeing a "real life size" Darth Vader and ObiWonKanobi! We are SOO into star wars right now it's not even FUNNY!
Our little Darth hiding in the trees...
Darth climbing on the zoo statues....

And Coby and daddy carved a pumpkin this year! Coby is LOVING it - every evening he can't WAIT to light the candle in the pumpkin!

I'm loving the age he is at and hate how fast time flies by......

Photos to Canvas

Long time, no blog...I know! I know!!

But luckily, I did get a chance to do a review for easy canvas prints! I am VERY happy with how the canvas turned out !

Of course, since we just got married I was DYING to have a wedding pic put on canvas!

Please excuse the no so great picture quality (that is only due to my camera) - but I assure you the canvas is TOP quality! I tried to take a few different angle views so you could get the full effect.

I ordered the 8x10 wrapped canvas! I am LOVING it! I think it turned out adorable!

I have it setting on our fire place. I would like to buy a canvas stand to put it on. But for now - I'm loving it RIGHT where it is!

I highly reccomend Easy canvas prints - the quality is exceptionally high and they had a VERY fast turn around time.

SO - hurry! Go order yours now!!

Dylan's ROTC awards banquet

Every year at the ROTC awards banquet - they have "America's White Table." This is so touching to me. I took a pic of Dylan and my dad at the table.

"America's White Table"

Materials needed: small table with an empty chair, white table cloth, black napkin, glass (turned over), white candle, lemon slice and grains of salt on a plate, one place setting with: fork, spoon and knife. A red rose in a vase tied with a red ribbon.

The table honors the men and women who served in the America's Armed Forces.
We cover a small table with the a white table cloth to honor a soldier's pure heart when he answer his country's call to duty.

We place a lemon slice and grains of salt on a plate to show a captive soldier's bitter fate and tears of families waiting for loved ones to return.

We push an empty chair to the table for the missing soldiers who are not here.

We lay a black napkin for the sorrow of captivity, and turn over a glass for the meal that won't be eaten.

We place a white candle for peace and finally, a red rose in a vase tied with a red ribbon for the hope that all our missing will return someday.

You are not forgotten so long as there is one left in whom your memory remain.

On a lighter note - Dylan got sent to the "grog" due to his hair being too long and touching the collar of his shirt! haha to him!

To prove that the cadet has drank the entire contents of the cup they must pour the "empty cup" over their head to prove it is empty. And you can tell by the look on his face that the "grog" contents did NOT taste good!
A rare picture - I will treasure forever!

My dad, Dylan and myself.

Easter/Fishing Recap

This is what the Easter bunny brought Coby. Excuse the "still sleepy eyes" and the spiderman underwear!
All the Easter eggs that Coby colored. And he's trying to give himself "bunny ear." Daddy and Coby drew on this Easter egg. Yes bow-n-arrow. The other side is a deer head. Imagine that!

Good Friday - we took advantage of having the day off work and made a day-trip to Flippin, Arkansas to go trout fishing! We had a LOT of luck!!! It was a great fishing trip! Here's Coby looking all handsome in his fishing hat.

And playing with his worm! HA!

Too Cute!

I KNOW I should be doing my "easter" post today. But I just can't get over these pictures! Yesterday (since we had SO much rain) I had to keep Summer(my neice) and Coby locked up in the bedroom while everyone else hid Eater eggs in the living room, for them! These 2 were HAMMING it up!!!How cute are they?
Summer kept telling me "take 2 more pictures!" HA!

Aww man...a little blurry! Oh well, still cute!

I'm not sure WHAT Coby was doing - but OBVIOUSLY CRACKING Summer up!

Boy Scouts - Court of Honor

Last night was Dylan's court of honor. He is ALMOST 17 and has been in boy scouts since he was 11! I LOVE that he still enjoys it. He got a rank advancement to STAR scout last night... Only one more advancement, then he can start working on his Eagle Scout. This is a BIG deal to me! I REALLY hope he takes it all the way. I think it would be a great accomplishment, that would make him very proud of himself! 3 of them were advanced to star scout last night - after their lit their candle (ritual) they all turned around held up their candles and said "FOR NARNIA!" HA! Really!?!?! At least they are having fun, right?!This is after the ceremony - Dylan with my parents!

Fishin' Stories

Coby got to go fishing in grandma & grandpa's pond this past weekend. (First time this season.) This is the FIRST fish that Coby caught that day....HUGE catfish - Grandpa had to pull it out of the water after Coby & daddy got it close to the bank. Coby HOLDING a fish (this is the first one he has actually held.) He loves to TOUCH them after he catches them, but not hold them by himself. YEA!
It's obviously hard work fishin'! You gotta take off your shirt and cool down!
