Planning a Surprise Party....

This is a picture of my mom in 1956! (I LOVE old pics!) And this is a pic from last year (left to right) Cory's mom- my neice - myself - my mom!ANYPARTY - My mom is turning 60 this year! And what kind of daughter would I be if I DIDN'T throw her a surprise birthday party?!
So my BFF- Sherri (who I grew up with) has said that she will help me plan the party, etc. YEA!!
I think we are going to go with a 50's and 60's rock and roll theme! If anyone out there in bloggy land has ANY ideas or suggestion.....please feel free to send them my way! I have 2 months to get this party thing going, but I'm trying to get a head start on it, so i won't stress me out.

Ok, ok....and props to Brandy who designed the invitation....pics of that to come later!

  2. Oh, that sounds fun! I was going to throw a surprise b-day party for my MIL for her 60th. But her b-day was Oct20 and Ethan's 1st b-day was Oct 8. 1st birthday trumped 60th when I thought about time constraints.

Love that pic of you mom....she looks like she's up to something!

  4. Oh that sounds like fun!! I have never had a surprise party. I have never given one either. Sounds like a great theme too!! I think you all should wear poodle skirts. They are pretty east to make!! :) As far as decorations? You could do records....jute box...I don't know? Make is look like a 50's malt shop? And you should serve shakes/malts. I don't know, just a thought?

  8. Awww, I took my parents to Memphis and Nashville for their 60th birthday (they are 5 mos apart). Oh yeah and that was before I had triplets and actually was able to afford it! I can't wait to hear about the surprise party. I'm sure your mom will love it
